Garmin Overlander GPS — full review for SA overlanding with Tracks4Africa
24 months of ownership, 8 proper off-road trips ranging from day runs to 7-day expeditions. Here is my honest, no-BS review.
Bought from Drifta 4x4 Accessories online for R12k. Fitting took 3 hours — straightforward with the instructions.
Performance: does exactly what it claims and has not let me down in the field.
Compared to the cheaper alternatives: I considered the alternative before buying. The price difference was around R1812. Based on what I have seen from other owners in this community, I think I made the right call — though I acknowledge I have not used the other one personally.
Would I buy again: Without hesitation. Rating: 10/10.
Any specific questions — happy to help. I remember how hard it was to find honest owner reviews before I bought, so I try to pay it forward.

How does it compare to the Rhino Rack version? I have been going back and forth between the two and at the price difference of around R2203, I am not sure the premium is justified for my use case.

Good review. I have had the same bull bar for 14 months and the experience matches yours — never let me down in the field.
The point about fitting time is important. I budgeted a weekend and it took almost exactly that. Worth planning properly rather than rushing it the day before a trip.
Just ordered one based on this thread. Delivery to Upington was 5 working days and it arrived well packaged. First impressions match your review — build quality is excellent.

The point about fitting time is important. I budgeted 4 hours and it took half the time with two people working. Worth planning properly rather than rushing it the day before a trip.
