What would make this forum better than every other SA outdoor platform?
Been thinking about this one for a while.
My view: The best piece of gear I own is not the most expensive — it is my Garmin inReach Mini. Everything else can be improvised. Communication when things go wrong cannot..
Keen to hear other opinions — this community has experience across the full spectrum of SA outdoor activities and I think we learn more from disagreement than agreement.

The solar setup gets mocked by people who have not tried it. Let them mock. The sunsets from a campsite 109km from the nearest traffic light are not something you can explain to someone who has not experienced it.
