Notable Routes
Baviaanskloof 4x4 Route — The main 4x4 route through the Baviaanskloof. Permit required. 200km, plan 2 days minimum. One of SA's great routes.
Nardousberg Pass — Remote Karoo pass near Graaff-Reinet. Serious gravel, rewarding views.
Wild Coast — Mtentu / Port St Johns Roads — Coastal 4x4 tracks between resorts. Muddy in wet season. Spectacular cliff views.
Cradock Mountain Passes — Numerous gravel passes through the Eastern Cape mountains. Little-known and underrated.
Stormberg Area Tracks — Remote highveld plateau tracks. Good for exploring Boer War history.
